Blepharoplasty is plastic eyelid surgery that removes excess upper and/or lower eyelid tissue giving you a refreshed and revitalized look. It is performed to improve the appearance of baggy eyes, dark under eye circles, wrinkles, and simply the signs of aging around the eye area. Blepharoplaslty is performed making small incisions along the natural skin lines of the upper or lower eyelids, allowing the removal of tissue. Incisions from inside the lower eyelid allow the removal of fat without leaving any externally visible scars. The surgery typically takes 30 minutes to one hour under local anesthesia with intravenous sedation. Intitial swelling after surgery usually resolves within one to two weeks. Brow lifts or forehead lifts are often considered when eye brows deviate significantly from an ideal eye brow line, to correct premature signs of aging causing drooping eyebrows, or as a solution to unwanted furrows or deep forehead lines. Brow lifts and forehead lifts are performed in an outpatient setting. These type of lifts often only require local anesthesia. BOTOX® is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines and wrinkles.
